Rise
I keep a good habit of seeing the best parts in people.
I opt to see light despite darkness. I told you I’d be here on days when you don’t recognize yourself my love is not romantic, it is unconditional.
I would reach down and pull you from the depths if you’d let me but I know some of us go under not to drown but to learn to appreciate breathing again.
So I have been holding my breath waiting to see you breathe again I have been holding my head above water wanting to see you surface
We were never meant to stay under forever lately sinking seems more like baptism it reminds me falling only provides reason to stand again and drowning only gives incentive to rise.
So rise.
The sun has been holding its rays waiting to see you shine again and my eyes have been closed in prayer wanting to see your smile.
